As the COVID 19 pandemic continues, customers are counting on us like never before and are increasingly recognising e-commerce to support their social distancing and self-quarantine efforts. At every level of our company, we’re working to provide the products and services that our customers and communities need at this time.
Prioritizing for our customers most urgent needs while ensuring safety of our associates
A large number of districts/states are taking precautionary measures with extensive lockdowns and restricted movement of goods and people. At the same time, we are seeing an increased demand for priority products and important services.
We understand the importance of your orders being delivered on time. These are extraordinary times and we are single-mindedly focused on getting essentials to you. We continue to work with state govts to get clearance and with the district authorities to get curfew passes (1/2)

To serve our customers’ most urgent needs while also ensuring safety of our employees, we are temporarily prioritizing our available fulfilment and logistics capacity to serve products that are currently critical for our customers such as Household Staples, Packaged Food, Health Care, Hygiene, Personal safety and other high priority products. This also means that we have to temporarily stop taking orders and disable shipments for lower-priority products.
These changes are in effect from 24th March 2020, and we will update when we resume normal operations. We will follow all Centre and State Government guidance on this. We continue to work with concerned government authorities to ensure on-ground support that will enable us to offer a more expanded selection to fulfil customer needs.
We recognize these are hard decisions that may impact some of our sellers’ business - we appreciate their understanding and continue to work for ways to enable small businesses to meet customer requirements during this time.
Amazon and our network of partners are helping communities around the world and in India to deliver much-needed supplies directly to the doorsteps of people who need them. We will remain focused on providing this vital service to people in India, especially to those most vulnerable, like the elderly or those without access.
