Now, the pitch looks great for us to bring India’s most loved sport to your screens.
Starting January 1, you can livestream international matches being played in New Zealand exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, including the Indian Women and Men’s Cricket teams’ tours in February 2022 and November 2022. The New Zealand vs Bangladesh Test series will be the first to stream on Prime Video from January 1-5. Not just that, but cricket lovers can watch a host of programming in the run-up to the matches, or catch highlights shortly after the match ending.

Stars from popular Amazon Prime Video orignals welcomed the New Zealand cricket team into the fold at an exclusive virtual conference. The Family Man star Manoj Bajpayee even hosted a fun fireside chat with Kane Williamson, captain of the New Zealand men’s cricket team. Says Bajpayee, “I played cricket in school so was excited to speak to Kane. He is someone who is known the world over not only for being a legend on the pitch but also a delightful human off it. His batting style aside, I think his sense of humour is infectious! I’m thrilled that we’ll get to watch New Zealand Cricket’s matches on Amazon Prime Video and wish Kane the best of luck for the upcoming tournaments.”

Kiwis excited to bond with Indian fans
The New Zealand cricket teams also expressed their excitement in connecting with Indian fans on a new platform. “We are looking forward to bringing New Zeland’s summer game to our fans and cricket lovers in India as they catch us live on the service,” says mens team captain Kane Williamson. “India’s love for cricket and entertainment is well-known. I’m thrilled that Prime Video will be exclusively streaming all the exciting on-field action to our fans in India.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Sophie Devine, captain of the New Zealand Women’s Cricket team says, “The passion and love of the Indian cricket fan is quite unmatched! The country and its cricket fans have a very special place in our hearts. With a new, exclusive home on Amazon Prime Video, we hope to engage and delight viewers across the country. I am excited to play against the Indian Women’s Cricket team this summer. They are worthy opponents, and I can bet it will be an intense cricketing season between our teams.”
Prime members will be able to exclusively stream Bangladesh’s tour of New Zealand in January 2022, followed by South Africa’s tour in February, Australia’s tour in March, and The Netherlands tour in March/April.
