This year, Prime Day celebrations kick-started with the Indian premiere of The Prime Day Show on July 8th, a three-part special featuring award-winning artists Billie Eilish, H.E.R., and Kid Cudi as part of an immersive musical experience. As far as Indian offerings go, headlining this year’s Prime Video line-up for Prime Day is Toofaan, a cinematic collaboration that brings together the dream team of Farhan Akhtar, Mrunal Thakur, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Paresh Rawal, and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy among others. The movie will premiere across 240 countries on July 16, 2021, and lead actor and co-producer Farhan Akhtar could not be more excited.

On the other hand, fans of Malayalam cinema have equal reason to rejoice with actor Fahadh Faasil’s Malik premiering a day earlier on Prime Video, July 15, 2021. Mahesh Narayanan, director of Malik, who returns to Prime Video after the worldwide success of CU Soon hoped that this movie could match the success of their last collaboration. “CU Soon was an incredible success with audiences, in India and around the world. We hope audiences find Malik to be an equally engaging watch as well. Malik is a special film for both Fahad and I – it is our dream project, and I hope with the Prime Day frenzy, more viewers, both in India and worldwide, watch our movie,” he said.

Fahad Faasil meanwhile awaits his hat-trick of successes with this one, since both his Prime Video world premieres CU Soon and Joji were loved by audiences and critics alike. “I am excited to return to Prime Video with the launch of my dream project – Malik.
