Amazon India has launched a health and wellbeing initiative providing free check-ups to over 80,000 delivery associates and delivery partners by end-2025. The initiative, already underway with four camps organised across Tamil Nadu and Delhi NCR regions, will expand nationwide, bringing essential healthcare directly to last-mile delivery stations. Associates can access comprehensive services—including eye, dental, BMI, and physician consultations—by presenting government ID at any camp. Conducted in collaboration with Marsh and Care Insurance, the programme reinforces Amazon's commitment to frontline workers who connect millions of customers with their deliveries daily.

Taking the initiative pan India

The next phase of camps is already underway focussed on North India including Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Noida, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Varanasi.

During consultations, medical professionals review health parameters and provide associates and partners with personalised advice on wellness management. With North India regularly experiencing high summer temperatures, doctors at the camps will provide specific recommendations to delivery associates on staying hydrated, recognising early signs of heat exhaustion.

Amazon implements multiple layers of protection—from OTP-based verification to AI-powered monitoring systems—creating a safe and trusted shopping environment for customers and sellers in India.

In cases where further medical attention is needed, doctors provide prescriptions with recommended follow-up actions, helping associates seek additional consultation at healthcare facilities of their choice. The medical camp initiative complements Amazon DA’s benefits program, which includes Group Mediclaim and Group Personal Accident insurance policies for delivery associates across “I Have Space” (IHS), Flex and DSP programs.

Other initiatives for associate wellbeing

Recently, Amazon had announced plans to expand its network of Ashray centres to 100 across India by 2025. Ashray centres are dedicated rest stops that offer air-conditioned seating, clean drinking water, electrolytes, mobile charging points, washrooms, first-aid kits, and refreshment facilities to delivery associates across ecommerce and logistics ecosystem. Ashray centres operate from 9 am to 9 pm, 7 days a week all year round, offering free access to all visiting delivery associates for up to 30 minutes per visit.

With 10 new centres launching today in Delhi NCR, Ashray facilities offer delivery associates across the ecommerce ecosystem air-conditioned rest areas with clean water, mobile charging, refreshments, washrooms and first-aid kits.

Late last year, Amazon India had also launched dedicated ambulance services in partnership with Dial 4242. The ambulance services are aimed at improving the safety and well-being of delivery associates while they are on the road. The service addresses the need for immediate medical response during emergencies, ensuring timely assistance during the first few critical hours following road accidents. These efforts reinforce Amazon India’s commitment to the health and safety of its associates.
