Amazon India today announced the expansion of its fulfilment network in Karnataka with the launch of a new specialized fulfilment centre –the largest in India. With the storage capacity of more than 1.2 million cubic feet, the new fulfilment centre is specialised to store and process customer orders from the large appliances and furniture category. With this infrastructure expansion, Amazon.in will now offer storage capacity of more than 4 million cubic feet across 4 fulfilment centres to its close to 35,000 sellers in Karnataka.

The fulfilment centre was virtually inaugurated by Shri. B.S Yediyurappa, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka along with Amit Agarwal, Senior Vice President, Amazon India and Akhil Saxena, VP, Customer Fulfilment Operations, APAC, MENA & LATAM, Amazon India and other members of Amazon India Leadership. With this expansion, Amazon India will continue to provide a delightful experience to its customers and sellers ahead of the much-anticipated festive season.

The expansion in Karnataka is a part of the company’s plans announced in July 2020 to add 10 new Fulfilment Centres and expand 7 existing sites, across India. Amazon India will continue to work closely with the health officials and in line with Amazon’s global standards has already implemented close to 100 changes in its operational processes, including social distancing and daily temperature checks on entry and exit at the work site for the health and safety of its people.
