Today, Amazon India announced the launch of a new Fulfilment Centre (FC), the largest in the State of West Bengal with a storage capacity of 1.2 million cubic feet. Amazon India has also tripled the storage capacity of an existing specialized fulfilment centre for large appliances and furniture, to more than 6 lakh cubic feet. This expansion marks a significant increase in Amazon India’s infrastructure in the State, which will now offer a storage capacity of more than 3.4 million cubic feet across 5 fulfilment centres. This expansion will help the 25,000 sellers in West Bengal offer a wider selection and enable faster deliveries of customer orders within the region and neighbouring States ahead of the upcoming festive season.

With more than a lakh cubic feet of storage space, the new fulfilment center will be located in Patna and help better serve customers within the region and neighboring states. The new FC is a specialized for large appliances and furniture and will be instrumental in enabling sellers in Bihar to reach out to customers across the country, further boosting their market presence.

This expansion will help sellers offer a wider selection and enable faster deliveries of customer orders within the region and neighbouring states ahead of the upcoming festive season.

With this infrastructure, Amazon.in now offers storage capacity of more than 4.5 million cubic feet spread across 4 fulfilment centres to its more than 23,000 sellers in Telangana. Amazon India has also expanded an existing Sort Centre to offer overall sortation area of more than one lakh square feet, in Telangana.

In preparation for the festive season, Amazon India has announced the expansion of its sort centre network. The 5 new sort centres will be launched in Vishakhapatnam, Farukhnagar, Bangalore, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Along with the new centres, Amazon India will also expand 8 existing sort centres to increase overall sortation area to 2.2 million square feet, across 19 states.
