Amazon Prime Day 2022 is coming to India on July 23-24.
To help Prime members discover joy by shopping from small businesses, Amazon India has launched 5 new artisanal brands under its Amazon Karigar program. Customers will be able to enjoy over 1,000 new products from brands like Suta, Karagiri, Aditri, Tjori and Koskii.
Artisans and weavers of Amazon Karigar have introduced products across different categories like block-printed sarees and furnishings, Rajasthani kathputlis, Kanjivaram sarees, Dhokra figurines and more from regions across India. This will help customers discover the best artisanal products on Amazon.in and help small business brands benefit from the mega Amazon Prime Day shopping event. Expanding the range of women's clothing and accessories with these 5 new brands, Amazon Karigar is the 'one stop shop' for customers looking for beautiful artisanal products.
Through Amazon Karigar, we will provide a platform to unlock limitless business opportunities for these brands as they showcase 1000+ products during Amazon Prime Day on July 23 and 24.
“Amazon Karigar was launched to bring to the fore the talent India’s skilled craftsmen and artisans have to offer. We’re humbled to launch homegrown artisanal brands that work with artisans and weavers across India to offer genuine 'made in India' products to customers and make their shopping experience on Amazon.in trustworthy and enjoyable. Through Amazon Karigar, we will provide a platform to unlock limitless business opportunities for these brands as they showcase 1000+ products during Prime Day on July 23 and 24. We will continue to collaborate with these brands to expand product selection by bringing in local art forms and benefiting both our customers as well as the artisan and weaver community,” says Sumit Sahay, Director, Selling Partner Services, Amazon India.
Sujata and Taniya, the co-founders of the womenswear brand Suta, say, "Amazon is a great marketplace to directly engage with millions of customers across India and the globe. Over the years, we have seen the reach and impact of Prime Day on small businesses and are really excited to have joined Amazon Karigar, in time for the sale event. We have launched 384 new products such as kurtas, dresses, and blouses for Prime Day 2022 and are hoping to grow our business by 30x during the two-day shopping fiesta.”
Amazon is a great marketplace to directly engage with millions of customers across India and the globe.
Since the launch of the Amazon Karigar program in 2017, Amazon.in has onboarded over 4,500 sellers — including master weavers, co-operatives, artisans, brands, and APEX bodies — to sell online. The program has made a difference in the lives of over 15 lakh artisans and weavers across India. Amazon.in has also partnered with over 30 government emporiums and 5 government bodies to showcase authentic crafts to craft lovers and increase market connectivity. Today, Karigar showcases over 2 lakh+ products, including 470+ unique arts and crafts from across the country. By launching on Amazon, these brands will also get access to a wider market base, bringing in greater recognition for the work of craftsmen associated with them, and create more employment opportunities.
This Prime Day, Amazon will continue to support small businesses and help generate customer demand for products offered by lakhs of sellers, manufacturers, start-ups, women-owned brands, artisans, weavers, and local shops. During the event, Prime members will have the opportunity to discover deals on a wide range of products across categories, including beauty, fashion, electronics, and home décor from sellers under various programs such as Local Shops on Amazon, Amazon Launchpad, Amazon Saheli, and Amazon Karigar.
During the lead-up to Prime Day (July 7-July 22), members can discover millions of products offered by micro entrepreneurs and small businesses and avail incredible offers such as 10% cashback up to INR 100*, which can be redeemed on their Prime Day purchases and more.
