Amazon India has partnered with Startup India, under the aegis of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), to empower Indian startups to scale their businesses through e-commerce. To provide DPIIT-recognised startups access to Amazon’s vast network of India’s 100% serviceable pincodes, a dedicated landing page will be created on the Startup India website. This page will onboard startups as sellers on Amazon, offering information on opportunities and incentives, and redirecting them to the registration page. This will help them gain access to the domestic market as well as mentorship from Amazon leaders, go-to-market support, and logistics guidance.

Here’s how Amazon will use India Post’s unmatched last-mile reach to unlock fast and reliable deliveries across all of India’s serviceable pin codes, even in the remotest areas.

High-impact learning for women

Further, Amazon India and Startup India have shortlisted select women entrepreneurs to empower them in e-commerce through Amazon’s Saheli initiative. The collaboration will offer a high-impact learning programme designed to fuel the e-commerce journeys of the women-led small and medium businesses (SMBs) in India. Participants will gain access to Amazon’s extensive suite of services, including Amazon Pay, Amazon Incentives, Amazon Business, Amazon Transport, AWS, Amazon Advertising, and Mini TV, equipping them with the tools needed for success in the e-commerce landscape. This programme will also include sessions with industry experts and continuous engagement with Amazon Saheli stakeholders, and the businesses will also get visibility support across the Amazon marketplace and its social media assets.

Our collaboration with Amazon is aimed at empowering startups to unleash their entrepreneurial potential and access new growth avenues.

Additionally, Amazon will partner with DPIIT to create awareness about the Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR) initiative. India’s first startup registry, BHASKAR is designed to centralise, streamline, and enhance collaboration among key stakeholders within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including startups, investors, mentors, service enablers, and government bodies.

Amazon India reinforces its commitment to delivery associates’ health and safety with the launch of ambulance services and a 6-month health programme (including over 50 free medical camps) that will benefit 50,000+ associates across India.

Setting entrepreneurs up for success

This comprehensive partnership also emphasises mentorship, where Startup India will curate masterclasses with Amazon leaders to guide DPIIT-registered startups in building capacity and upskilling. Through targeted support in areas such as marketing, supply chain management, funding, technology, and procurement, startups will be able to strengthen their business strategies and drive sustainable growth.

"By combining Amazon's e-commerce expertise with Startup India's role as the Government of India’s flagship initiative for the development of the startup ecosystem, we will provide a robust platform for Indian startups and businesses to scale domestically. Further, the collaboration of Startup India with Amazon India is a testament of our commitment towards the empowerment of Indian entrepreneurs across sectors and regions and driving economic development in the country through entrepreneurship and innovation," Singh adds.

Startups in India are an inspiration to everyone because of their sheer determination and will power to build successful businesses across different industries. By leveraging the power of e-commerce, they are scaling new heights, and catering to customers across different parts of the country with their innovative products.
