There’s a definite buzz in the air as Saurabh Sharma of the whimsical lifestyle brand, Alicia Souza, goes about putting together new accessories and home improvement products to be launched on the 1st of July. Says Saurabh, “The Amazon Small Business Day came as a pleasant surprise. We saw a 4x increase in revenue and volumes last year and were able to get in front of a lot more customers.” With lovable hand drawn designs that are locally made, this small Bangalore brand is looking to replicate last year’s success with much enthusiasm at this year's Amazon Small Business Days (SBD) which starts midnight on July 2, 2021, and goes on until 11:59 pm on July 4, 2021.
'Special boost to our crafts'
The three-day online sale event is beng looked at with enthusiasm from sellers, manufacturers, start-ups and brands, women entrepreneurs, artisans & weavers, and local shops. Archana Kumawat of Season Creation, a local handicraft brand from Jaipur. “We are extremely delighted with our sales on Amazon Karigar. We did a whole month's business in just one day last year. We saw a great response to our Block Printed Kurtis, and sold more than 500 units during Small Business Day in 2020. We hope to see the same response from buyers for our handcrafted products this year. These special shopping events are also a great boost to our crafts and help revive the lives of our rural artisan community from Rajasthan,” shares Archana.
Purvi Modi Monga from Khar, Maharashtra, the CEO of Mint & Oak, an Amazon Saheli brand, feels the same way too. “What started as a small business venture to add fun and colour to everyone’s wardrobes, grew by 10x during Small Business Day last year. A special thank you to Amazon Saheli for helping us plan for this year’s event as well and helping drive good visibility for our Saheli products,” says Purvi.
Small Business Days 2021: The buzz in the air
Despite the pandemic, this year is no different and the excitement around the mega shopping festival is palpable, with small sellers and local brands on Amazon looking to repeat last year’s success.
Says Puneet, CEO, BonOrganik, “Small Business Day 2020 marked the highest sales for us in terms of order count. We saw a boost of 3x in orders during the shopping event last year. I’m looking forward to the same support from the Amazon Launchpad team this year as well, in terms of setting up deals for our products and ensuring good visibility for our homegrown brand.”
Amazon Saheli seller, Ruchi Arora of Direct Dukaan, shares, “Thank you Amazon Saheli for all the help and support for the Small Business Day last year. We thank all our customers too for the record spike of 3x in sales on most of our products during the event. We are looking forward to this year's Amazon Small Business Days, Amazon Saheli has helped us a lot by promoting our fabric facemasks homemade by women artisans in these difficult times.”

Sandip Kathiriya, the owner of another local brand, Navlik, is also looking forward to the Small Business Day event with great hope. “As a brand Navlik experienced 3x increase in sales on Small Business Day last year. The Launchpad team helped us prepare for the shopping festival with inventory planning, sponsor product ads and much more. I’m looking forward to another day of bumper sales on July 1. I thank Amazon for supporting small brands like us and helping us grow in these tough COVID-19 times.”
Getting back on track post COVID-19 second wave
