As the SMB summit kicked-off in India, Jeff Bezos inaugrated the event by lighting a lamp - true to the India tradition. At the SMB summit Jeff announced that Amazon would invest US$ 1 billion to help digitize SMBs. This along with establishing 100 Digital Haats to inspire, support, and onboard Indian businesses of all sizes into the digital economy.

Business Speak
A fireside chat between Jeff Bezos and Amit Agarwal touched upon various subjects including insights for entrepreneurs, growth story of Amazon and how India plays a big part. Elaborating on this he said, "Today, there are more than 550,000 sellers on the Amazon India marketplace and more than 60,000 Indian manufacturers and brands are exporting their “Make in India” products to customers worldwide on Amazon. With today’s announcement, Amazon will help Indian MSMEs grow their cumulative exports to US$10 billion by 2025 through the Amazon Global Selling program, which enables businesses to sell on Amazon marketplaces globally."
Kirana flavour
Jeff at a kirana store in Mumbai, where he met with its 27-year old owner! The Amazon founder and CEO got a sneak-peek into the life of Amol Patil who turned his life around by enrolling with the I Have Space (IHS) program of Amazon India. Thrilled with the benefits of this partnership, Amol now wants to spread the word and get his fellow store owners on board with Amazon’s IHS program. Under the IHS program, Amazon partnered with more than thousands of local store owners to provide pickup and delivery services to customers across different cities within 2 – 4 kilometer radius of their store.
Women Power
At the SMB summit Jeff met up with the digital marketing manager of I Village, that procures orders that are crafted by women in villages and sold online. Amazon Saheli helped them reach out to areas which otherwise were only a distant dream. The platform has surely increased the visibility of I Village in the market and has helped them procure large orders.

Candid conversations
At the fireside chat between Jeff, Zoya and Shah Rukh Khan the conversation was peppered with interesting tid bits on the star of evening and the CEO Jeff. From offline grocery shopping to cooking to starring in a Hollywood film Star Trek, the evening was about getting inspired even as everyone had fun!

Visit to the Raj Ghat
On the day he arrived in India, Jeff started his India trip with a visit to the Raj Ghat. In a conversation with SRK at a Prime Video event he said that Gandhi's teaching hold relevance even to this day.
